Founded in Mumbai in 1996, Kama Schachter ranks among the top ten manufacturers and exporters of diamond jewelry in Asia. Kama’s talented, multi-cultural workforce numbers over 800 in three factories in India and in sales offices around the globe that serve the major markets of India, USA, Europe, Middle East and Australia.

Product Range

Produces bridal, CNC and fashion jewelry in gold, platinum and silver both as generic products and as Private Label brands. Every piece of Kama Schachter bridal, CNC and fashion jewelry undergoes microscope QC to ensure it meets the highest quality benchmark.

Private Label Brands

Our portfolio of private label brands offers retailers a brand building boost and allows us to tailor products to fit customer tastes. Our in-house marketing team strengthens these brands with point-of-sale materials, customized displays and other powerful branding tools.

Leo Schachter Diamonds

Our partnership with Leo Schachter, a major sightholder, gives us access to a vast array of diamonds in clarities ranging from VS to I3, and in weights from 1 pt to 50 pts, catering to markets worldwide.

Business Efficiency

We have SAP-enabled our manufacturing and order processing solutions along with an integrated CRM platform to ensure efficiency.

Colin Shah - Managing Director

Colin founded Kama Jewelry in 1996 and formed the joint venture with Leo Schachter in 2007. Under his leadership, Kama is taking critical steps to drive best practices, deliver high value and cutting edge quality in every detail. Colin is the recipient of many industry awards and plays a leadership role in many organizations, including the Gem & Jewelry Export Promotion Council of India, the Seepz Gem and Jewelry Manufacturers Association, the Young President Organization and the Entrepreneur Organization. He is also a trustee on the board of Make-a-Wish, India.

Mamta Apparao - Director

Ms Mamta Apparao is a scion of the business family of Ruia’s (Essar Group) and has excelled in various business areas including shipping, construction and hospitality over the past 25 years. She ventured into the jewelry business in 1996, partnering with Colin Shah to create Kama Jewelry

Elliot Tannenbaum - Director

Elliot Tannenbaum has been active in the diamond industry since 1974, beginning his career in the New York offices of Leo Schachter. Working his way up through the business, he was instrumental in transforming Leo Schachter into a full service multi-national company – an industry leader in manufacturing and marketing of polished diamonds around the world. the content is also in pages as management

  • 1996 Founding

    After 8 years of mastering the diamond and jewelry business and selling to Japan and the Gulf markets, 25-year-old Colin Shah founded Kama Jewelry in Mumbai.

    1998 Expanding Horizons

    Kama partners with Nova MWI to increase international distribution in the USA and Europe.

  • 2000 Platinum

    Kama becomes an authorized manufacturer of platinum jewelry.

    2001 Kama Comes Home

    Kama brings its exclusive jewelry to the domestic market.

  • 2002 Boosting Production

    Kama launches a large new manufacturing facility of 12,000 square feet to greatly expand its manufacturing capabilities.

    2005 Achieving Recognition

    Kama is awarded by Gem & Jewelry Council of India as the largest exporter of Diamond Studded Jewelry outside Seepz (SEZ) Mumbai.

  • 2006 Manufacturing Expansion

    Kama increases its production capacity by adding a new manufacturing unit of 40,000 sq. feet in Seepz (SEZ) Mumbai.

    2007 Joint Venture

    Kama Jewellery enters into a joint venture with Leo Schachter group to form Kama Schachter Inc. Over the next few years Kama Schachter receives numerous honors including the ‘Emerging India Award’, ‘Udyog Ratna Award’ and ‘Emerging SME Award’ from CRISIL.

  • 2009 Private Label

    Kama Schachter launches private label brand in USA retail chains.

    2011 Brands Launched

    Two private label brands, Kama Love and Kama Platinum are launched at the IIJS.

    Kama opens a diamond sourcing office at the Bandra Kurla Complex.

    2013 SAP Implemented

    Kama installs SAP for more efficient business processing.

    Kama Schachter establishes its U.S. Head Office in New York, allowing the company to expand its footprint in the American market.

    2017 Digital Presence
